Ceramic tile, which is the most popular bathroom option, was noted as the third most common choice in flooring.

Kitchens: Several popular New Home Construction Trends thus far in 2015 that were touched upon in the article involved different areas and items in the kitchen. For new countertops, it was said that granite continues to be the top choice, with over 64 percent choosing this option. Quartz/engineered stone also saw a spike in counter top popularity as a second choice. In kitchen appliances, Cooktops and wall oven combinations saw an increase in installation as compared to freestanding units, while “freezer on bottom” refrigerators also gained in popularity, where as the “side-by-side” units saw a decrease. Sinks were another item in the kitchen that were detailed among the New Home Construction Trends. The single basin kitchen sink seems to be making a comeback this year, and granite or stone kitchen sinks also have seen a rise in their overall numbers.
